June 10, 2007 - Barriors is now online

Hello. Thanks for coming to the site. The inspiration for creating a comic reflecting on 'Growing up Filipino' came from searching the internet and not finding much out there. I am looking to create a quality Filipino American Online Comic.

All of the characters are based off of friends that I grew up with. The comics will be a mix of the 80's and 90's where did most of our galavanting around town, but I may mix in some modern day references. I will probably pull from music, art and a ton of movie references...

Why did we call it Barriors...? I wanted to put a positive spin on growing up Filipino American. I haven't seen many Filipino centric online comics, so I decided to do one myself. I didn't quite live in the barrios, but I did develop the warrior mentality to achieve and overcome obstacles and barriers.

Barrio + Warriors = Barriors
Barriers + Warriors = Barriors
